The necklace tarnished where it hit my neck. I asked my friend who sold it to me if I can use a silver cleaner and she didn't want to make a commitment.

Is it real silver or just silver plated? What can I do to make it back to the original color? I bought it from a friend and she had no idea how to remove the tarnish or to stop it from tarnishing anymore. I called the person who sold it to me and left a voice mail and she has not replied.

Can you help me figure this out?

Thank you.

Gold does not tarnish. Sterling silver does not tarnish at any perceptible rate.

(As a flute player and owner of a solid sterling flute, I can attest that the care of this metal alloy is minimal.) Even good quality, inexpensive jewelry will not discolor skin.

These prices suggest a higher quality product than is actually being sold.

Hello! We are so sorry that you had to go through this.

At this time we do not manufacture Oval Lockets. We understand that there are many competitors out there in the field. All Origami Owl jewelry will have our name on the back of the Locket.

As for our chains, we will have a small tag with the Origami Owl name on it. If there is anything that can we assist you with, please reach out to our team at socialcare@***.com.

You can use jewelry cleaner on it. I have jewelry cleaner that I bought at the jewelry section at Walmart.

You dip jewelry in the cleaner for 10 seconds and then wipe it clean.

Looks like new. Origami owl jewelry is actually pretty good quality, but like any jewelry it will tarnish and it needs to be taken care of.

Origami Owl does not have oval lockets. Are you sure it's from Origami Owl?

There are a lot of knock offs out there.

I even saw a knock off company called Origami Locket. Any piece of Origami Owl jewelry have their signature stamp on them.

O2 doesn't sell an oval pendant- are you sure it's not a knock off?

Its a possibility that u have alot of acid in ur system. Does this happen with any other jewelry u own?

Gold? Silver? U may be allergic to nickel. Do u wear scented lotions?

Spray perfume or body sprays near the area the necklace/pendant is at? From personal and professional experience, I would not use a silver cleaner. Try toothpaste first. The good old kind like crest.

Rub it on, especially on the areas of necklace or pendant that r the heaviest tarnished, and rinse with either a damp cloth or in a bowl with shallow water. If u drink alot of think with high acid or caffeine, or eat acidic foods, that could be the root of the problem. Try cutting back, if at all possible. Try not wearing the piece of jewelry for a few days and see what happens.

Im not a sales rep, or affiliated with this product in any way. I used to sell high end jewelry, and ppl who wore 18kt would have these issues also.

Sometimes its just our natural chemical makeup, other times its what we put into our bodies. Good luck!!!!
