The glass backing fell out of my origami owl locket after wearing it once. I contacted customer service but sadly I bought it in October and wore it for the first time in November (I was saving it for x-mas) to an OO party to show off.

So I am probably past the 30day mark and they will not take responsibility for the faulty product. I am out 20$ for the locket which I cant wear again because the glass backing is gone, and 15$ for the charms that fell out as a result. The website says to care for the locket to wear it gently because the glass can break, it does not state that the glass will fall out. It is ridiculous.

I could probably find something similar and sadly with better customer service. This is not the first time that I have heard of such incidents. BTW when I got my charms, some of the paint was missing from a charm...that should have been my first indication that it was not worth buying. Sadly the same day it had fallen out, I made an order from the same person for another locket.

I don't blame the seller, it is not her fault that the company she works for is a scam.

One of the faux pearl dangles also started chipping paint the same day. I could buy a piece of children's jewelery that does the same thing from a dollar store...this is sad.

I had the same thing happen to mine after wearing it a few times. It was a Christmas gift so the 30 or 90 Days was up.

The back glass just fell out. Luckily I didnโ€™t lose the charms.

I called and no warranty either. Superglue I guess for me.

Just happened to me I found the charms I can't believe at the gas station 8 hrs later

This has happened twice to me And luckily I found my charms both times. Seems like this is a recurring problem.

OMG this exact thing happened to me but I did find the back of the locket, was wondering how to repair it. I also purchased a dangle cham that the paint chipped on as well, I guess I'm done with the origami now

There is a 90 day warranty for manufacturer defects on all Origami Owl merchandise.

The same thing happened to my locket. I am very disappointed and disgusted with origami owl.

The designer offered to sell me another locket at her cost $27.95 ( I originally paid 28 plus shipping and tax) , as there is only a 30 day garantee I have only had this necklace for 6 weeks and only wore it twice. This is poor quality merchandise at a high price and I will not be purchasing any more.

You can DEFINITELY return this through the designer! The product has a 90 day warranty.

Not only will the company replace the locket but they will replace the charms you lost -without cost to you or the designer.

These are not normal or acceptable defects. I have done this type if return myself...I would not otherwise feel so strongly as to post a response!!!!!

Only a 30 day warranty. As a designer I know.

My glass plate fell out too but it may have been my fault because I think my 3 yr old was playing with it! I contacted my designer and they said there was nothing they could do!

I was even willing to pay for them possibly fixing it. When I called Customer Service they confirmed that they would not do anything. It just stinks cause I spent $75 total for that locket and over $200 on gifts for family! O2 claims to be family oriented but can't even make a product sturdy enough for mamas with little ones.

I wish thry cld at least offer so.e kind of repair...they told me I wld have to buy a new one! :(

Also just to keep it in perspective, if you buy a piece of jewelry from say Target or Belk, you will have a limited warranty there as well. Being costume jewelry and not say Tiffany where there would be a much longer warranty, they can only guarantee it for so long.

But as posted here, many designers will work with you well beyond 30 days and it has been my experience that Origami Owl will work without within 90 days of purchase. Before running off to BBB, give the designer and/or the company a chance to make it right.

Actually the Origami Owl Policy is 90 days for faulty merchandise. Best thing to do is contact your designer if you do not want to contact Origami Owl directly.

She can work with Origami Owl and get it replaced.

Many designers will also work with you to ensure you remain a happy customer so that is certainly your first stop to get the best customer service.

Tried calling twice this week but was on hold for over An hour. What a joke.

You can definitely have the locket replaced!! The company is awesome about replacing items even after the 30 day mark. I am a designer and have had to replace items for customers well after the deadline and no questions asked by the company :)

I had the same thing happen to one of my lockets. If the company can't stand behind their product for longer than 30 days, something is majorly wrong.

Unfortunately this happens way too much with this company. Cheap products and no accountability.

Your best bet is to file a complaint with the BBB. They will try to resolve it like they did for the 170+ other complaints..........

#1. It's true your consultant will work with you if their is a defect in the product.

#2.

When you say "170 complaints", yes that might be true and it sounds like a lot but you fail to look at the total reality of the situation and only focus on a small account of unfortunate chains of events that ALL COMPANY'S have to go thru. I just hope you gave your consultant a chance to make things right before calling the BBB, if not that is wrong not giving them a chance. #3. 170 complaints is super small compared to the millions of lockets ordered which have had NO DEFECTS.

#4. In your defense if you exhausted your resources in resolving problem, such as going thru the company&consultant and internet&phone contact efforts and still had no resolve, then you did the right thing. #5. If you are a consultant in any company and have not done right by your customers.

Remember that in the view of consumers (your product is only as good as the individual promoting it). The customer is always right(even if they are wrong/ pass warranty). The way you handle the situation is a reflection of you as a person and business owner, and the whole company. I would take a personal loss to make my customers happy its the wright thing to do for their sake and yours.

#6. I would like to leave all consultants with my view and I say this out of experience in working in retail direct sales and health care provider as a Hearing aid Specialist which is a much more expensive product were talking up to a couple thousands a piece even wholesale cost. It takes (HUNDREDS) of satisfied customers to build a Good Reputation, and (ONLY ONE) to destroy it.

It is worth it to fix the problem even out of your own pocket then to risk losing business and having a complaint going to the BBB. Do right by your customers and they will do right by you, which in return will bring new customers.
